THANK YOU to our early-bird donors!

As you can see, Ellie and Anna are head-over-heels thrilled about our fantastic supporters that have already donated to Ellie's Elephants '07! We have ambitious fundraising goals, but I'm also certain that we can exceed them with the help of our amazing friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors.
Check out the Ride links to the right of this page to see the new and improved Ride Tracker pages for this year. Not only can you see how close Steve, Katie, and Nicole are to their goals, but you can see our personalized messaging and photos. Cool.

First Ride of 2007
Chicago saw some unbelievably beautiful weather over the weekend, and I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with my bike for the first time since, well, Death Valley 2006. Seriously, I remember arriving back at the ranch after approximately 11 hours on the road, and someone whisking my bike away to load on the truck, while simultaneously handing me a beer... before I had even clicked my shoes out of the pedals. Now that's service.
My first ride of 2007 was about 17 miles along the lakefront, complete with gusty winds. I even got a bit of sunburned cheeks and my first biker's tan lines of the year. Bring it on... only 207 days until this year's Ride....

The Golf Outing! - August 3, 2007
The 3rd Annual JDRF - Ellie Clark Charity Golf Outing will be held on Friday, August 3rd.
This is a save the date for that fun event. Check out the pictures from last year's outing here!
The outing is a great day for our family. It does take quite a bit of work, but with lots of hands helping out, it isn't too bad. We will be hoping to grow it a bit this year. We have a better date, and are hoping we can get back a few teams from the 1st Annual outing who weren't able to make it last year.
We do offer some sponsorship opportunities for companies. We are ever so thankful to those corporations who can help us with some of the larger prizes and the food for lunch. It all seems to come together in the end, and I hope everyone has as much fun as we do on the day of the outing.
Well, I just wanted to get that Save the Date out there. August 3rd!

My first ever blog post
Ah, not only one of the first posts on our Ellie's Elephants blog...but also my very first post as a blogger. I'm not sure what to think of that, other than if I'm going to spend time doing this, at least it's for an awesome cause. :)
More to come...including a shout-out for people in the Chicago area that want to bike with me as we get ready for another 105 in October.

What's new...
We are starting up the Ellie's Elephants team with some new fun stuff this year. This blog is a start. Check back often for updates.
